Good News From America

Esselamu Aleykum ve Rahmetullahu ve Berekatuhu,

Many greetings from Washington D.C., U.S.A. ,

Islam spreads every day all over the world , The Qur’an too. As an example of this situation, Risale-i Nur truths are being read at our Washington Risale-i Nur Dersane (medresseh).

We would like to talk about our Risale-i Nur services here in Washington; Our Nur Dersane was opened  1 year ago and  it is 20 minutes away from central Washington. Five people; some of them university students, some of them language college students, live in the Dersane. Risale-i Nur lessons in English are given on every Sunday evenings.  Dersane students are making lessons after every nightfall prayer. I hope this always goes on so. Amin( Amen ).

Our Risale-i Nur lessons that started in March of 2010 with our 2 classmates , went on every week. Now, it is going on with 20 people. We would like to share some experiences related to these lessons:

We have a brother who is not a muslim. Although he is not a muslim, he comes to our Risale-i Nur Dersane. We had a nice experiment last week: He explained the 23rd word by using 1st word. And he said:” Bediuzzaman is an extraordinary writer. He tells the Islam perfectly.

Some of our lesson brothers do not give back the Risale-i Nur books after finishing lesson. They say:” We are going to read these books again at home.”  Even a Christian man said the same things!

A man whose name is David said us after his first lesson he came: ”I was extremely impressed by these Risale-i Nur lessons. Although you are young, you are talking about Allah. I am 71 years old. Unfortunately, I was not like you  when I was a young. I was interested in philosophy in my 40’s. Then I became pious. I found the answers of the questions ”Who am I?  Where am I going to” by the help of religion. As you know, the Christians believe 3 Gods. I believe just One Allah( God). The Jesus is a prophet and slave of Allah(God). He is not son of Allah(God).” I hope Allah lets this real Christian man to understand all the truths of Islam.

One of our brothers who live in Nur Dersane meets people who search Islam on internet. He tells them Qur’an and Risale-i Nur. He sends them Qur’an and Risale-i Nur. He invited one of these people to our  Nur Dersane. Then, that person came and stayed with us during 5 days.

One of our friends named Cody said that he was a Christian, searched Islam, Christian beliefs were insufficient, believed the Prophet Mohammed(s.a.v), had some questions. He stayed at Nur Dersane during 5 days.We had a chat related his questions.  He even prayed! He become a muslim a few months later. Now, his name is Bilal!

Christian people  are looking on us. So we have to be very careful in daily life. American people have many Islamic behaviours in their daily lives. Bediuzzaman has many good news about U.S.A. We hope these good news come true.

Winter Universiade Erzurum 2011 News

Here is a short information note about our activities of Winter Universiade Erzurum 2011.

We had invitation cards in English and Russian named “All Free”.  These cards were about national sweets, Turkish tea and surprising gifts.

We opened an “official information desk” at the central point of Erzurum. We covered the desk with the official poster. We put books, brochures and cardpostals in front of the desk. Moreover, we put a tea samovar! We played national music. So that, museum visitors were realizing us and they were coming to our desk.

Our service was starting at the Erzurum airport. We were meeting them and  we were giving them some books.

There were officially charged brothers in the olimpiade village. They were meeting the players and then they were giving them our contact informations. All the hotels that media personnels stayed were determined. We gave hotel stuff a lot of pockets consisting of books, brochures and invitation cards.

We gave restaurants, historical places and cafes books and brochures.

There were English and Russian speaking brothers at the our “culture center” located in the square of Erzurum. These brothers were all over the Turkey. We were giving the visitors Turkish delight, tea and sweets. We were talking to them, taking their mail addresses and phone numbers.

We were giving them books in their own languages. We were talking about intellectual matters. They said: “ We changed our opinions about Turkey, Islam  and muslims. We like them very much now. But that was not so in the past.”

Our activities that we made in front of the “culture house” were exciting. We even made a huge snow man! Brothers were talking to the visitors. Photos were being taken, teas were being drunk.

Everybody heard our activities in Erzurum city. The officials said that “they were satisfied with our efforts“. We tried to inform people about Islam, Risale-i Nur and Said Nursi. Three people accepted Islam religion as a result of these efforts. Their names are Dima and Igor.

London Christmas Holiday Risale-i Nur Reading Programs

There was 20 days Christmas holiday in England as all christian country. We decided to make 2 reading programs with high-school students and Risale-i Nur students who live at Nur Medresseh in order to benefit from this christmas holiday.

We would like to express the importance of high-school services here in London in a few words. That high-school students are good at Risale-i Nur knowledge is very important by 2 sides:

Firstly, this brings us to communicate English people better. Secondly, this brings us to have a well-educated  tradesman community. We made a 7 days long reading program outside London. Some of the members attended willingly, while others attended unwillingly. Unwilling ones were forced by their families. Reading program’s circumstance was very nice and hopefull.

We received many thanks messages from the families of students. Furthermore, students who attended the program by the force of families, changed their opinions! They are waiting the next reading program impatiently! A brother  made a speech on the last day of program and said: “We understood your goals. We are extremely excited. Please tell us what to do in order to live Islamic rules better, to tell people these fine truths and to serve people.”

We created a main group with high-school brothers. A high-school consulting group was created. Some decisions were given related to daily readings, Turkish and English friends to be interested and weekly discussing topics. We are looking for a place for the 15 days long Easter holiday in April.
